Pripyat in Panoramas project
A series of fine art panoramic photographs from Pripyat, Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, by photographer Stanislav Vederskyi.

For many years I was fascinated by urbex photography, especially panoramic images of abandoned places. After experimenting with panoramas in derelict interiors around Kyiv, my attention eventually turned to Pripyat — the abandoned town in the Chernobyl alienation zone.
Influenced by the atmosphere of Andrei Tarkovsky’s Stalker, the visual world of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and the haunting beauty of the Zone itself, I decided to create a large-scale fine art panorama project dedicated entirely to Pripyat.
Over multiple visits in 2012 and 2014, I spent around 20 days photographing the silent ghost town, working for hours while shooting material for highly detailed multi-row panoramas. Nature was slowly reclaiming the abandoned urban landscape: forests growing through streets, trees emerging from rooftops, and the silent town slowly dissolving into time.
Each finished panorama requires days or weeks of stitching and detailed post-processing. These works were created not simply as documentary photographs, but as fine art pieces designed for large-format, exhibition-quality prints.
This gallery is currently being updated. New works will be added gradually over time.
